Jimmy Charles has been described as one of the hardest working artists in the industry. His passion for his music can be felt in the soulfulness of his voice. Growing up in Ocean City, Maryland, Charles focused mainly on sports but his Love for music grew quickly when playing, writing and learning with his father every night on the couch. After graduating college, he realized that the days of shoulder pads and helmets were over and made the decision to take the big leap to Nashville to relentlessly pursue his music and dreams. Here he has focused on both performing and songwriting with an impressive release of songs and opening for an impressive list of artists including, Merle Haggard, Josh Turner, Travis Tritt, Luke Bryan, Kip Moore, Lady A, and more.
Charles is an avid supporter of various charities including, ZERO Cancer where he is a national spokesman for prostate cancer prevention. He specifically wrote one of his most cherished survivor songs “Superman” just for this cause, with the video premiering on CMT. Charles's philanthropy doesn’t end there. He also formed his own non-profit, I Am Not Alone, which focuses on the strength and well-being of cancer survivors using music and community to heal. He most recently has become an ambassador for the charity "Show Your Soft Side" that features NFL and NBA players fighting against animal cruelty. Charles continues to support several other causes where he is needed.
Charles's love for his state led him to pen the track “It’s a Maryland Thing You Wouldn’t Understand.” With over 2 million streams, half a million video views, the song has made a lasting impression with regional radio play and performance at large scale events and stadiums.
One of Charles's latest releases, “They Grow Up Too Fast” has taken off on social media with over 50k Instagram Reels and growing while also becoming a popular Daddy/Daughter & Mother/Son dance song.
